Neal's Spotlight Family
The Coker Family has been coming to Neals since 1934! It started in 1934 with Steve Coker's grandparents Fred & Jewel Manly. Steve started coming to Neals in 1959 and his children have come every summer since they were born. All Steve's siblings (Brent, Jeffrey & Becky) have been bringing their families every year as well. Steve Coker has never missed a summer at Neal's and says "I retired from the Navy and was stationed all over the Country and with all my deployments I still managed to get back to Texas to go to Neal's!"
Steves favorite memory of Neal's was when Mrs. Neal would give him candy as a small child to cheer him up because he did not want to leave!
Steve worked for Mary Tom and John in 1976 leading horses for the guest rides.
Counting all the family members starting with Steve's Grandparents he has close to 50-60 family members that have been coming to Neal's most of their lives.
Employee of the Month
Rodge: is a Western DiamondBack Rattlesnake that showed up on the front porch of the store the night before Memorial Day weekend. A Rattlesnake is rare in this area and one had not been seen in close to 20 years. He has grown two times his original size in 5 months. He recently promoted himself to head of public relations and no one wants to argue with him.
Rattlin' Rodge's hobbies are having mice over for dinner and occasionally inviting a frog over. His music taste is whatever is playing at Joe Jommy's. His current status is single and he plans to stay that way due to his "bad temper".
Rodge is a great "listener" and has been described as a very "down to earth" guy!

Neal's Fact: Did you know Joe Jimmy was a big winner everytime he ran on his home track here in Concan but was average at best when he ran away from his hometrack! Talk about a homeboy!
The current location of Joe Jimmy's is the old hay barn used for the race horse!
The horse to the left in the picture IS NOT JOE JIMMY, he is just another customer looking for a cold beer on a hot summer day.
